Incident Summary:

07/12/2013: Assailants attacked a vehicle carrying officials of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission (DESOPADEC) in Benin city, Edo state, Nigeria. One police officer and one assailant were killed when the attackers and police bodyguards protecting the convoy exchanged fire. Three civilians were also injured in the gunfire. The assailants were able to abduct three DESOPADEC officials; their whereabouts are unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.
