Incident Summary:

05/17/2013: Danish photographer Daniel Rye Ottosen, his driver, and an interpreter were kidnapped in an unknown location in Syria. The driver and interpreter were released immediately. Ottosen was released unharmed on June 20, 2014. No group claimed responsibility for the kidnapping; however press reports attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
