Incident Summary:

05/17/2013: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated near a police convoy outside of an elite housing complex in Kandahar city, Kandahar province, Afghanistan. This was one of two car bombs to detonate within several minutes outside of the complex on this day. At least nine people were killed and another 60 people were injured in the blasts. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.
