Incident Summary:

04/06/2013: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle targeting the provincial governor in Qalat town, Zabul province, Afghanistan. The blast occurred as a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) convoy intersected with the governor's convoy. Three NATO soldiers and two civilians from the United States, including one diplomat, were killed in the blast. In addition, an Afghan doctor was killed and at least nine other people were injured. The governor was not harmed in the attack. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.
