Incident Summary:

02/15/2013: Perpetrators kidnapped Chintala Paidi Raju, an engineer working for BSC C&C Construction Limited, in Betagaon, Baksa district, Assam state, India. No group claimed responsibility; however, authorities attributed the incident to the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB)'s Songbijit faction. They speculated that the kidnapping may have been in response to a failure to pay extortion money. The victim was released on February 27th, 2013 and seven people were arrested in connection with the kidnapping.
