02/14/2013: Armed assailants hijacked and kidnapped a bus of at least 40 Shia villagers in Idlib province, Syria. The villagers were freed on February 20, 2013. The newspapers claim the kidnappings were part of sectarian strife that escalated after the start of the civil war in Syria. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.
