Incident Summary:

12/13/2012: A suicide bomber detonated an explosive-laden vehicle at a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) airfield in Kandahar city, Kandahar province, Afghanistan. The bomber targeted the airfield just hours after Leon Panetta, the United States (US) Secretary of Defense, had left. In addition to the bomber, at least three people were killed, including a soldier from the United States (US), and 18 others were injured in the blast. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.
