Incident Summary:

10/30/2012: A group of assailants threw incendiary devices at a passenger van carrying participants of Pasumpon village's Muthuramalinga Thevar Guru Pooja as they were traveling near Avaniyapuram municipality, Madurai district, Tamil Nadu state, India. At least seven people were killed and another 14 injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, the police arrested 10 individuals, who stated that they carried out the attack to "intimidate" the Pooja participants.
