Incident Summary:

09/09/2012: A roadside bomb detonated close to a police station in Tuz Khormato district, Saladin governorate, Iraq. Two people died and 20 were injured in the blast. This was one of 36 attacks around Iraq on September 9, 2012. Al-Qa'ida in Iraq claimed responsibility for the incidents, claiming that they were revenge for the "campaign of extermination and torture of Sunni Muslim detainees in Safavid prisons."
