09/09/2012: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated near a marketplace in Washash area, Mansour district, Baghdad city, Baghdad governorate, Iraq. Seven people were killed and 21 injured in the attack. This was one of 36 attacks around Iraq on September 9, 2012. Al-Qa'ida in Iraq claimed responsibility for the incidents, claiming that they were revenge for the "campaign of extermination and torture of Sunni Muslim detainees in Safavid prisons."
