08/25/2012: A joint Afghan and Italian military patrol discovered an explosive device along a road near Farah city, Farah province, Afghanistan. As they were defusing the device, assailants opened fire on the patrol. The troops returned fire, causing the assailants to flee. There were no reported casualties in the attack, and the soldiers successfully defused the device. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.
