08/19/2012: A suicide bomber detonated explosives in Mudiyah town, Abyan governorate, Yemen. The blast targeted the commander of the Popular Resistance Committee, a local pro-government militia; the militia commander and the bomber were killed and six additional people injured. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed it to Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
