Incident Summary:

08/17/2012: An Afghan Local Police (ALP) officer opened fire on North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) troops in Kinisk village, Bala Boluk district, Farah province, Afghanistan. Two United States (US) soldiers, Gregory T. Copes (U.S. Marine) and Darrel L. Enos (U.S. Navy), were killed in the attack. Additionally, the assailant was killed by return fire. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident.
