Incident Summary:

08/03/2012: Assailants armed with automatic weapons opened fire on a military convoy in Palaspas village, Ligao City, Albay province, Philippines. There were no reported casualties or damages. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities attributed it to the New People's Army (NPA). Authorities also believed that the attack was meant to increase awareness of the group's existence in the area and shame the security forces in the eyes of civilians.
