07/29/2012: Assailants kidnapped an Italian embassy security official in the Hadda neighborhood of Sanaa city, Amanat Al Asimah governorate, Yemen. The Carabinieri officer was released on August 2, 2012. Tribesmen loyal to former President Ali Abdullah claimed responsibility for the incident, citing demands to be compensated for land they once owned.
