Incident Summary:

07/19/2012: Gunmen attacked the deputy to the Tatarstan mufti in Kazan city, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. The deputy, Valiulla Yakupov, died in the shooting. This was one of two related attacks in Kazan on this day. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities suspected that the victim was targeted for the cleric's anti-radicalism stance.
