07/16/2012: Assailants kidnapped the Mongkot Chepu village chief at gunpoint from his home in Ukhrul district, Manipur state, India. Police rescued the chief and arrested his four attackers later that evening. The Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) claimed responsibility for the abduction.
