Incident Summary:

06/24/2012: Assailants attacked a Pakistani military convoy in Upper Dir district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Approximately six soldiers and 14 assailants were killed as a result of the clash. In addition, at least 11 soldiers were kidnapped, and seven of the captive soldiers were later beheaded. Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that they would continue fighting "until the establishment of sharia law in Pakistan."
