05/14/2012: Assailants abducted Veysel Celik from his car in Senyayla, Kulp district, Diyarbakir, Turkey. Celik, the Justice and Development Party (AKP) district chairman, was released unharmed on June 29, 2012. No group claimed responsibility; however, government officials attributed the attack to the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK).
