05/04/2012: Assailants burned the tomb of Sidi Mahmoud Ben Amar in Timbuktu city, Timbuktu region, Mali. The tomb was destroyed in the attack. Ansar al-Din, a subgroup of Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), claimed responsibility for the incident.
