04/19/2012: An explosives-laden vehicle detonated near a Sahwa Council checkpoint in Samarra city, Saladin governorate, Iraq. Two civilians were killed and one Council member was injured. This was one of 43 coordinated attacks in Iraq on this day and one of two on Sahwa Council checkpoints in Samarra. Al-Qa'ida in Iraq claimed all 43 of the coordinated attacks.
