04/09/2012: Assailants attacked a police station and abducted a police chief in Tigbao municipality, Zamboanga del Sur province, Philippines. The assailants looted the police station; there were no reported casualties. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for this attack; however, sources attributed it to the New People's Army (NPA).
