Incident Summary:
01/07/2012: Six assailants attacked a police station with grenades and rifles in Sopore town, Jammu and Kashmir state, India. The police returned fire, killing one attacker. This was one of three coordinated attacks in Sopore on this date. The attacks came one day after the 19th anniversary of a massacre in the city perpetrated by border guards. No group claimed responsibility, but sources attributed the incident to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM).
