Incident Summary:

12/31/2011: Five members of the Sahwa militia were attacked in an armed assault in the town of Khan Bani Saad, Diyala, Iraq. The attackers used guns with silencers. The five members were staffing a check point in the town. While no claim of responsibility was reported, it is believed that al-Qa ida in Iraq may have been responsible.
