12/16/2011: In the province of Lahj, gunmen opened fire on a car carrying Colonel Saadan Mohammed al-Sufi. A bullet struck him in the head, killing him instantly. There are no reports of any other deaths or injuries. While no claim of responsibility was made, it is suspected that Al-Qa ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) was involved.
