Incident Summary:

11/3/2011: Suspected members of Al-Qa ida opened fire on a vehicle driving towards Sanaa in Yemen. The two occupants of the vehicle, including Mohammed al-Haithami Ashal, a member of the consultative council, and an army colonel, were wounded in the attack. Specific motive is unknown; however, local members of Ashal's tribe believe that they are being targeted because they successfully ejected Al-Qa ida from their village.
