Incident Summary:

10/10/2011: On Monday morning, in Sirnak, Turkey, unidentified assailants entered a sand mining facility along the Sirnak-Siirt highway. After setting fire to one mining machine, the assailants took one worker hostage. The status of the hostage is unknown. A large-scale operation was launched by security forces in the area following the incident. No casualties occurred and no group claimed responsibility, although the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) is suspected.
