Incident Summary:

09/13/2011: On Tuesday, in Chhattisgarh, Bijapur, India, the head of the village local self-Government institution of Potampalli was abducted by suspected Communist Party of India-Maoists (CPI-M) and later killed with an unspecified sharp weapon for allegedly being a police informer. The victim was identified as G Surraiyya and his body was recovered on 09/14/2011, on a forest road about 500 kilometers from Raipur. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
