Incident Summary:
09/07/2011: On Wednesday night, in the Batikot district of Nangarhar, Afghanistan, several armed Taliban militants broke into the home of Sayed Hakim, a senior police officer and head of the intelligence department in the neighboring Pachir Wa Agam district. The militants fired on and killed Sayed Hakim, who was home to visit his family. No other casualties were reported and a Taliban spokesman claimed responsibility for the attack by unknown means.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
