Incident Summary:
08/17/2011: On Wednesday, in Tarmiyah, Salah ad Din, Iraq, an unknown suicide bomber detonated his suicide vehicle borne improvised explosive device targeting the residence of Tawfiq Ahmed, the town's police chief. The blast killed two body guards, wounded seven others, and caused an unknown amount of property damage to the house. The police chief was unhurt in the attack. No group claimed responsibility.

Success is not judged in terms of the larger goals of the perpetrators. For example, a bomb that exploded in a building would be counted as a success even if it did not, for example, succeed in bringing the building down or inducing government repression.
