Incident Summary:
08/11/2011: On Thursday afternoon, in Dhalai, Tripura, India, near Khagendra Roaja Para of Ambassa, police foiled an attempted bombing by a group of about nine or 10 militants from National Liberation Front of Tripura (NFLT), led by Athara Babu Halam. Reportedly, the militants were planning to plant explosives on National Highway 44 on or before Independence Day and acting on a tip-off; police raided the Khagendra Roaja Para area. The attack resulted in no casualties or damages and no group claimed responsibility for the attempted attack.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack. For example, in a typical successful bombing, the bomb detonates and destroys property and/or kills individuals, whereas an unsuccessful bombing is one in which the bomb is discovered and defused or detonates early and kills the perpetrators. Success is not judged in terms of the larger goals of the perpetrators. For example, a bomb that exploded in a building would be counted as a success even if it did not, for example, succeed in bringing the building down or inducing government repression.
