06/17/2011: On Friday, in Parsahi village, Latehar, Jharkhand, India, around 50 suspected Communist Party of India-Maoists (CPI-M) set fire to a truck, a jeep and two drilling machines of the RK Drilling Company, causing an unknown amount of property damage to the vehicles. The specific motive for the attack is unknown; however, non-payment of extortion demanded was said to be the reason behind the attack. No casualties were reported and no group claimed responsibility.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2
There must be evidence of an intention to coerce, intimidate, or convey some other message to a larger audience (or audiences) than the immediate victims. Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
