04/24/2011 (Default Date): On Sunday, in the Dharmapur Char area near Barpeta, Assam, India, unknown militants detonated an improvised explosive device in the home of a teacher, Abdul Jalil. The attack caused an unknown amount of property damage, but resulted in no casualties. The specific motive for the attack is unknown; however, Jalil received an extortion demand from National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants of $11,262 (Rs 5 lakh). No group has claimed responsibility.
