Incident Summary:

04/07/2011: On Thursday morning, on the 42nd Pattani-Hat Yai Road in Muang district of Pattani, Thailand, two unidentified militants fired upon a security guard for the Pattani Veterans’ Office as he was driving home. The guard, Vichet Boonchai, fired back at the militants and killed one and injured another before he died. The deceased militant was identified as Abdulromae Chaewae while the other militant managed to escape. A nine millimeter pistol was used in the attack and no group claimed responsibility for this incident.
