Incident Summary:
04/02/2011: On Saturday morning around 0530, on an unspecified road near Gerulia village in Jhargram, West Midnapore, West Bengal, India, four militants on two motorcycles shot and killed a teacher and former supporter of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM), identified as Prabodh Mahato. According to police, Mahato was beaten first and then fired on twice at close range. No group claimed responsibility, but it was suspected that the Jhargram Squad of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M) militants were responsible.
