03/02/2011: On Wednesday night, in Jerua village in Latehar, Jharkhand, India, unidentified militants abducted and subsequently killed Neyamat Ansari, a functionary attached to a local organization campaigning for the rights of laborers, by beating him to death with sticks. No group claimed responsibility, but it was suspected that Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M) militants were responsible.
