Incident Summary:

02/22/2011: On Tuesday at 0000 midnight, in Ganganametta village in Chintur, Khammam, Andhra Pradesh, India, unidentified armed militants set ablaze a stone crusher, damaging a conveyer belt and some other equipment. The specific motive for the attack is unknown; however, it is believed that the attack was carried out in an attempt to scare away contractors and to thwart the attempts by the government agencies to take up road construction under the integrated development plan for Left wing extremism-affected areas. No casualties were reported and no group claimed responsibility, but it was suspected that Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M) militants were responsible.
