Incident Summary:

02/02/2011: On Wednesday morning, in a forested stretch near Toanar village in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, India, unidentified militants shot and hacked to death Nohar Singh, a Salwa Judum (an anti-Maoist vigilante group) leader. The assailants reportedly shot and then chased the wounded leader and hacked him to death with an axe. No group claimed responsibility, but it was suspected that Communist Party of India-Maoist militants were responsible.
