11/05/2010: On Friday, in Baratand village in Banka, Bihar, India, around 30 armed militants attacked the village, firing several rounds, killing two villagers and injuring two others. The specific motive for the attack is unknown; however, police suspected that the incident was an act of retaliation for the recent killing of a Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M) leader in the district. No damages were reported and no group claimed responsibility, but it was suspected that Maoists were responsible.
