10/05/2010: On Tuesday, in Ba'quba, Diyala, Iraq, a suicide bomber driving a car toward a funeral of police officers who were killed the previous day, was discovered by a military force. The military opened fire on the suicide bomber and forced him to detonate his vehicle born improvised explosive device. No casualties or damages were reported in the bombing. No group claimed responsibility.

Criteria 1

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack. For example, in a typical successful bombing, the bomb detonates and destroys property and/or kills individuals, whereas an unsuccessful bombing is one in which the bomb is discovered and defused or detonates early and kills the perpetrators. Success is not judged in terms of the larger goals of the perpetrators.
