Incident Summary:

06/14/2010: On Monday night, in Rohtas, Bihar, India, unidentified assailants fired upon one police station and one Special Auxiliary Police camp, causing no casualties or damage. According to police, around 100 armed rebels attacked the Rohtas police station and a camp of the Special Auxiliary Police, but were repelled by the Gorkha battalion stationed in Rohtas. The specific motive for the attack is unknown, however police suspect that the attack was carried out to enforce their two-day shutdown in Bihar and Jharkhand to protest the arrest of two Communist Party of India-Maoist cadres in Bihar. No group claimed responsibility, although it was believed a Maoist faction was responsible.
