05/10/2010: On Monday, in Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, six tribals were wounded when Community Party of India-Maoists (CPI-M) fired on their vehicle in the R. V. Puram forest area of G. K. Veedhi mandal (administrative unit). The specific motive for the attack is unknown; however, according to police, the Maoists fired on the vehicle believing it to be carrying police personnel. No damages were reported and no group claimed responsibility.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
