Incident Summary:

04/14/2010: On Wednesday night, near Lalgarh, West Midnapore, West Bengal, India, around 30 suspected Communist Party of India-Maoists (CPI-Maoist) abducted and killed Tapan Das (42), a Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-Marxist) branch-committee secretary from Domohini village. The CPI-Marxist leader was dragged from his in-laws’ house and shot in the head and killed at a village near Lalgarh. On 04/15/2010, around 0530 in the morning, the body of Das was discovered at Bagjhapa village. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
