12/20/2009: On Sunday, near Goz Beida, Ouaddai, Chad, armed assailants attacked a United Nations (UN) convoy, firing upon and wounding one Integrated Security Detachment soldier and stealing one UN vehicle. No material damage or motive for the attack was reported and no group claimed responsibility, although it was widely believed the Union of Forces for Democracy and Development (UFDD) were responsible for the attack.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
