Incident Summary:

12/07/2009: On Monday evening at 1800, in Muang, Narathiwat, Thailand, assailants detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) placed in a market parking lot near a security patrol, killing two Buddhist civilians, wounding eight civilians and one soldier, and damaging 15 motorcycles and one building and left a crater about one yard wide. The bomb was hidden in the gas tank of a motorcycle. No group claimed responsibility, although it was widely believed Muslim separatists were responsible.
