Incident Summary:

10/27/2009: On Tuesday night, in Pirrakhuli village, 14 kilometers from Lalgarh, West Bengal, India, a group of 100 suspected Communist Party of India- Maoists (CPI-Maoist) barged into the house of Ratan Mahato, branch secretary of the Communist Party of India-Marxist's Bhimpur committee, and dragged him out accusing him of corruption. Mahato was beaten and declared dead on 10/28/2009 after he was taken to the hospital. No damages were reported in the attack. This is part of a multiple incident.
