Incident Summary:

08/23/2009: On Sunday, in Uttarakhand, India, a member of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party was shot dead allegedly by his rival inside a police station. Kala Dungi block president Balwant Singh Kaniyal had a fight with the accused Saturday evening. The two were called to the police station for questioning after a tiff and the men started fighting again. The accused took out his pistol and shot Kaniyal from close range where he died on the spot.
