Incident Summary:

08/22/2009: On Saturday, in Peshawar, North West Frontier Province, Pakistan, assailants attempted to kidnap two government officials, however when their attempt failed they then fired upon them killing one government official and wounding the other. The three suspected kidnappers, one of whom was injured, were stopped and arrested by police. No group claimed responsibility.
