Incident Summary:

08/17/2009: On Monday morning at about 0900, in Gumla, Jharkhand, India, assailants kidnapped ten employees of Hindalco Industries along the Netarhat-Kujam road. About twelve hours later, assailants returned to the area and set 12 vehicles afire. No group claimed responsibility, although it was widely believed a Maoist faction was responsible. The status of the hostages is unknown.
