Incident Summary:

08/14/2009: On Friday morning, in Claver, Surigao del Norte, Philippines, at least 10 armed assailants kidnapped a security guard from the Oriental Synergy Mining Corporation. The status of the hostage is unknown. No group claimed responsibility, although it was widely believed the New People's Army/Communist Party of the Philippines (NPA-CPP) was responsible.
